Er. Mahesh Bhattarai officially assumed the role of Member Secretary of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) on January 1, 2024. His appointment to the position was made by the Council of Ministers on December 28, 2023. Upon arriving at Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, Er. Bhattarai received a warm welcome from Mr. Khagendra Prasad Adhikari, the Vice Chairperson of CTEVT, along with the Directors and other employees of CTEVT. A brief welcome program was organized at the CTEVT central office. During his speech at the program, Er. Bhattarai expressed his commitment to sincerely work towards enhancing the institution’s reputation. He emphasized the crucial role of transparency and teamwork in achieving success. He demonstrated his commitment to obtaining approval for the organizational structure and positions from the council to initiate the recruitment process. He expressed his dedication to putting forth all efforts to lobby for the enactment of the new TVET Act.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Khagendra Prasad Adhikari, the Vice Chairperson of CTEVT, congratulated Er. Bhattarai on his appointment as the Member Secretary and expressed his eagerness to collaborate for further enhancing CTEVT’s reputation. He stressed the necessity of changing the employees’ working style to yield better results and reiterated the significance of transparency and teamwork for organizational success. He emphasized that having the TVET Act in place would facilitate CTEVT’s functioning within the federal structure and urged the concerned authorities to expedite the enactment of the TVET Act.
The newly appointed Member Secretary, Er. Mahesh Bhattarai, has been actively involved in the TVET sector’s development for over 27 years. Before assuming this position, he served as the For Member Secretary of CTEVT and also held the position of Executive Director at the Training Institute for Technical Instruction (TITI). Throughout his professional journey, he has consistently dedicated his expertise and insights to uplift the field. According to the CTEVT Act of 1988 and its Rules of 1994, the Member Secretary, who holds the position of a special class officer, serves as the chief executive officer of the council’s office.
